You Are What You Watch

Your Daily Dose of Tube will be painstakingly chosen by a member of this community, or one of your moderators Miss smoofy T. Robot, quirkyfemme, maxine_s_bugs, karlaanne, and the international man of sexy thestach. One video a day (or as often as they occur to us) will be selected from submissions, personal investigation, and frivolous time spent on the internet. Most videos are under 10 min because we realize your attention is precious, and that lunch breaks aren't as long as they should be. All videos are rated worksafe/nonworksafe which applies to outside of work as well, so if you're easily offended, you might not want to watch the unworksafe ones (we figure this should be common sense but for some people apparently it isn't).

SOME OF OUR FAVORITES:
1. Tokyo Plastic - Drum Machine
2. Run Wrake - Rabbit
3. Anabukin Chan
4. Don Hertzfeldt - Rejected
5. Gunther - Ding Ding Dong

Thanks for watching! Isn't having eyes wonderful? ^_^

Submissions Policy !NEW!: If you have or know of a video which you'd like to see posted here, post it! As of this year all members have posting access so you do not have to wait for a moderator to post your video for you, although all videos are pending moderator approval.

That said, PLEASE MAKE SURE BEFORE YOU POST A VIDEO THAT:
1. No one else has posted that day. Only 1 video is allowed to be posted each day.
2. The video you are posting is unique i.e. has never been posted to The Daily Tube.
3. You understand the guidelines and general aesthetic of the tube. Generally good videos include: independent film, art, music, retro, technology, humor (esp. dark humor), comic art, and animation. Bad videos (do NOT post these): karaoke, vblogs, clips from popular TV shows currently on the air, clips from recent movies, movie trailers (recent), ads (currently on TV), anything which promotes hate, racism, sexism, or is otherwise discriminatory UNLESS you are commenting negatively on how racist, sexist, or discriminatory it is. It is okay to post banned commercials, and clips from vintage shows / movies, and music videos although we'd like to keep their appearance in the tube to a minimum. Please do not post if you are trying to promote your own work. Unless your work is awesome and fits in with the stuff we have here. We reserve the right to disapprove of any video for any or no reason.

The (other) Daily Tube: We are not in any way shape or form related to Thedailytube.com. In fact, this blog was started months before their site came into being, as our calendar will indicate. As for the fact that we share the same name and general purpose, we would like to assume this is all just a coincidence and will continue to do so until things indicate otherwise. Cheers.

Ads: are courtesy of livejournal's new advertising policies. If you don't have a paid account, you get ads on your journal or community. It is a bummer. The moderators do not earn a cent from them, so you can be assured that this site is the genuine result of blood, sweat, and boredom.

Layout contains images drawn by Don Hertzfeldt, who we love, adore, and would someday like to take long, romantic walks on the beach with. (If you are Don and are interested in this sort of thing, please email us at djdeathsquad (at) gmail . com. p.s. U R dreamy.)

Legal Stuff: (skip it if you're not a lawyer trying to sue us) All videos posted are to the best of our knowledge copyright-free although we will certainly remove films if requested to do so by the maker of the film (who will provide us with documentation) or the company who owns the rights to any of the clips shown here. Moderators can not be held responsible for legal ownership rights as none of the footage herein originates from this site, although sources of films will be cited if available (we like to give credit where credit is due and we love the animators & video artists whose work we post!) If you have any questions about any of this, post it and we'll get back to you.
